Folks Up In Treetops emerged in December 2012 from the shores of Lake Champlain in Burlington, VT with a mission of bringing the majestic music of The Grateful Dead to the hungry, under-nourished masses and music fans of Chittenden County.

Formed in Burlington VT by 2 guitarists, Matt Nunan & Jeff Messina, the two set out to assemble a group of stellar musicians that could crystallize their cosmic vision and interpretation of the music of the good ol' Grateful Dead.

They found said musicians in the eclectic bass stylings of Mike Case, the earth-pounding melodic thumping of drummer Uday Smith, and the colorful keys tickling of Steve Petrie.

The band originally found a happy home at Monopole in Plattsburgh, NY, where they played their 1st 3 shows, and they currently happily pound the pavement in awesome venues all over their great home state of Vermont.

The newest Folk to join the fray is Pete Burton, who plays keys during the winter days when Steve soaks in the healthy gamma rays of sunny Florida.

So look to the skies, shake yer bones, and enjoy Folks Up In Treetops' heartfelt tribute to a band beyond description.
